Wi-Fi Share now asks for a PIN and can run over HTTPS. Mavaul also speaks four more languages.

• Wi-Fi Share is locked behind a 6-digit PIN shown on your phone. Each share gets a new one, and five wrong guesses lock it until you start the share again.
• Turn on Use HTTPS in Wi-Fi Share to send your photos encrypted across the network. Your browser warns the first time, because the phone signs its own certificate.
• 4 new languages: Vietnamese, Korean, Austrian German and Colombian Spanish.
• Long-press a photo in the grid to start selecting with it.

Improved

• The launch screen no longer shows the Mavaul logo, so the Calculator disguise holds from the very first frame.
• The recovery email code waits while you check Mail. Come back within 10 minutes and the screen reopens on it, and the code fills in from the keyboard.
• A single tap stops the slideshow.
• Steamy Peach, Traced Peach and Big Blinds are retired from the app icons.

Fixed

• Asking for a recovery email without Premium offers an upgrade instead of an error.
• The 1 minute lock delay is translated in every language.

Mavaul now speaks your language, has 12 new app icons, and a quicker first run.

New

• 9 languages: English (US, UK, Singapore), Spanish (Spain, Mexico), Portuguese (Portugal, Brazil), French, Italian, German, Japanese, Chinese and Thai. Search for yours in onboarding or Settings.
• 12 new Premium app icons, from Peach Window and Gold Padlock to Midnight and Glow. Geometric Peach is retired.
• Bring up to 5 photos in while you set up. They are encrypted as soon as your passcode is set.

Improved

• Onboarding lets you skip any step and go back between questions.
• Floating glass headers in the gallery and folders, and Liquid Glass buttons in the viewer.
• Photos open smoothly, without bright seams or a jump in size.
• Moving photos to a folder uses a sheet you can drag, and folder menus are clearer.
• The All tab remembers its filters.
• Folders get an All tab next to Images and Videos, and new imports show up right away.
• Photos imported from All go to a No folder folder, so they are easy to find and sort later.
• Turning the Calculator disguise on switches to the Calculator icon. Turning it off brings back the Mavaul icon.

Fixed

• Video slideshows play properly, and the controls fade out as you close the viewer.

Email your recovery key with a confirmation code first, then the key itself. Turning the passcode off decrypts the vault before the lock comes off.

New

• Feedback & Support is in Settings, under Rate.

Improved

• Recovery email sends a code to the address you typed, then a second email with the key. A wrong address does not receive the key.
• Turning the passcode off shows progress and will not finish until the vault is decrypted. Turning it back on encrypts again. Folders stay.
• Photos that were still unencrypted get encrypted. Copies left behind so a photo could be shown are cleared when the vault starts locked.
• Thumbnails show up as soon as you unlock, in the main gallery and in folders. The app opens faster, and imports are quicker.
• Settings shows encryption as its own state. The vault card glows when encryption finishes.

Fixed

• Choosing not to delete the originals in Photos is no longer reported as an error.
• Starting over no longer gets stuck on metadata from a vault you already removed.

• Edit without leaving the vault: crop photos and apply non-destructive brightness, contrast and tonal adjustments.
• Organize with folders: filter your gallery by folder and manage them from a new folder screen.
