Use At Your Own Risk
Use of the app is at your own risk. Mavaul is not liable for data loss, user errors, or WiFi sharing mistakes, including accidental exposure caused by local network sharing.
No Warranty
Mavaul is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, or error-free performance.
Limitation Of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mavaul is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of content, or loss resulting from local network use, device failure, user configuration, or unauthorized access caused by user actions.
User Responsibilities
You are responsible for your passcode/biometric device security, backup choices, and network sharing behavior. If you enable local WiFi casting/sharing, you are responsible for who can access your network and connected devices. If you enable Email Recovery, you are responsible for keeping your email account secure and for safeguarding any recovery key emails you receive. If you use Encrypted Backup, you are responsible for your chosen storage provider, account credentials, and keeping your recovery key safe for restore.
Purchases And Subscriptions
Mavaul may offer paid features, in-app purchases, or subscriptions. We use RevenueCat to manage purchase status, subscription entitlements, renewals, and related purchase metadata. Billing, cancellations, and refunds may also be subject to the rules of the app store or payment provider used for the purchase.
Email Recovery and Encrypted Backup are premium features. You must have an active subscription entitlement to enable or use them. Feature availability may vary by plan.
Encrypted Backup Service
Encrypted Backup is an optional service for manual backup of your already-encrypted vault to storage you control, such as Dropbox, WebDAV/Nextcloud, or Files on iOS. Mavaul does not host backups and does not automatically sync your vault to the cloud.
Backups are encrypted on your device before upload. Restore requires your recovery key and a new passcode on the destination device. Mavaul cannot restore your vault without your recovery key.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mavaul is not liable for loss of data resulting from backup failures, third-party storage provider outages, account lockouts, credential loss, or inability to access backups stored with external providers.
Email Recovery Service
Email Recovery is an optional service that sends your recovery key to an email address you provide. It is designed to reduce the risk of permanent lockout, but it does not guarantee successful delivery or recovery. Delivery may fail due to email provider issues, spam filtering, incorrect addresses, or other factors outside our control.
Enabling Email Recovery does not change the fact that your vault media remains on your device and is not stored on our servers. The recovery key is transmitted only when you enable the feature or request a resend, and is not stored long-term on our servers. You must manually enter the key in the app to regain access — the vault does not unlock automatically from an email.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mavaul is not liable for loss of access resulting from failure to enable Email Recovery, loss or compromise of recovery key emails, or any inability to deliver or use a recovery key.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Mavaul after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
