Private photos on your TV, without the cloud
Open Wi-Fi Share in Mavaul, scan the QR code with the TV's browser or a laptop, and the vault opens there, with a slideshow and a full-screen viewer. It goes over your Wi-Fi only, nothing is uploaded, and it stops when you close it or lock the app.
How to do it
- Put the phone and the TV or laptop on the same Wi-Fi.
- In Mavaul, tap Share.
- Scan the QR code, or type the link into the browser. Each session gets a new code.
- Start the slideshow, or open photos full screen.
- Close the share screen when you're done. The copies made for sharing are deleted.
Why not AirPlay or a shared album?
- AirPlay mirroring shows whatever is on your phone screen, notifications included.
- A shared album uploads the photos to iCloud for everyone in it.
- Wi-Fi Share keeps the photos on your network and only while the screen is open.
Good to know
Wi-Fi Share opens the whole vault, all folders. Anyone on that Wi-Fi with the link can see it while it's open, so use it at home, on a network you trust. It's free.
Questions
Does Wi-Fi Share work on a smart TV?
If the TV has a web browser and is on the same Wi-Fi, yes. A laptop or tablet works too.
Are the photos uploaded anywhere?
No. They go from the phone to the browser over your Wi-Fi.
Can I add photos from the computer?
Yes. Drop them into the browser gallery and they're encrypted into the vault.
