# Private photos, together, on the TV

_By [Diogo Ferreira](/about/), founder & engineer_

Some photos are for two people and a big screen, not for the cloud or a shared album. Mavaul's Wi-Fi Share opens your vault in the TV's browser, with a slideshow, over your own Wi-Fi. Close it and it's gone.

## Set it up
1. Phone and TV on the same Wi-Fi.
2. In Mavaul, tap Share and scan the QR code with the TV's browser, or a laptop plugged into the TV.
3. Start the slideshow. Thumbnails come first, full size follows.
4. Close the share screen when you're done. The server stops and its copies are deleted.

## Good to know
- It opens the whole vault, all folders.
- Anyone on that Wi-Fi with the link could see it while it's open, so do it at home.
- It's in the free plan.

## Questions
### Is this the same as AirPlay?
No. AirPlay mirrors your screen. Wi-Fi Share opens a gallery in the browser, so your phone stays free.

### Is anything uploaded?
No. It all stays on your Wi-Fi.
