# Memories keeps showing me my ex

Photos builds Memories, Featured Photos and widgets from everything in your library. You can tell it to show someone less, but the surest fix is to move those photos out of the library. Keep them somewhere private until you decide what to do with them.

## Tell Photos to stop
1. When a Memory with them appears, tap More, then Feature [name] Less, or Remove from Featured Photos.
2. In Settings → Photos (Settings → Apps → Photos on iOS 18 and later), you can turn off holiday events and reset suggested memories.
3. Hide specific photos: they disappear from Memories and widgets.

## Keep them, without seeing them
Not ready to delete? Move them into Mavaul. They're encrypted, out of Photos and iCloud, and only show up when you open the vault on purpose. Let it delete the originals, then empty Recently Deleted.

## Questions
### Do hidden photos show up in Memories?
No. Hidden photos are left out of Memories, Featured Photos and widgets.

### Can I turn Memories off?
You can reset suggestions and turn off some memory types in Settings → Photos (Settings → Apps → Photos on iOS 18 and later). Moving the photos out is the reliable fix.
